In life, Johnny cruised the highways of post-Recession America as a low-level drug mule— a simple, faithful courier for the opioid crisis. But now, as an employee of the Devil and Death, he works the eerily soothing highways of the afterlife. His only reprieve? The exits, where he confronts the souls of the damned.

As he journeys deeper into this strange new realm, Johnny must confront his own past and the choices that led him to this surreal, endless passage. Along the way, he discovers that his worst fears may be his only road to redemption.
