When Olivia Johnson, chef from Boston, meets Australian Jack Miller, it's the start of a challenging situation.

They're on the vast Nullarbor Plain, South Australia, in a dusty, dilapidated house. Jack's a hostage negotiator called in to navigate his way through a tense standoff. He's been told Olivia has poison on her mind and two old fishermen tied up in front of the TV.

Olivia's been in Australia for three days. She's here to help resolve a quarrel for her uncle but nothing about this trip is going to plan. All she wants is to get outta here and back to Boston.
