"I have written this book to share some of my experiences, and with the determined purpose of providing inspiration and encouragement to you to make the changes I made to my lifestyle. They will improve your health, fitness, quality of life and ultimately how you age. Through my story, I hope to inspire you and share some of the tools I used to bring health and prosperity into my life." – Arthur Duncan
In A Tale of Two Mountains, author Arthur Duncan shares the story of profound change in his life, detailing how he transformed himself completely when he was in his early sixties. It all began on one fateful family visit, when he saw his son-in-law's mountain bike standing outside, and asked if he could take it for a ride. Little did he know that he was about to unlock a brand-new set of life experiences. Starting from that single bike ride, Duncan found a new perspective on life—one that inspired him to become healthier, happier, and to take control of his future years.
At the age of 87, Duncan competed at the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships. He was awarded a World Champion title for winning the Road and Time-Trial events in his respected age category of 85-89. It was a dream come true—not only to compete at the world championships, but to bring gold back to South Africa, showing what can be done when you set your mind to it.
Duncan has his sights set on defending his title at the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships in 2024 in Aalborg (Denmark). All proceeds from this book will go toward making Arthur's dream a reality. All remaining funds from Arthur's trip to the 2024 World Championship will go towards a personal project, establishing a community upliftment project in KwaZulu-Natal to assist underprivileged families in developing gardens where they can sustainably grow their own organic food.
