This work started about ten years ago following the need to deepen the autobiographical research as educational process. This theme was particularly developed in the research for the PhD in 'Methodology of pedagogical research' carried on at the Florence University of the Arts, Faculty of Education. Within this study I had the chance to get to know European educational and cultural interventions and remarkable international autobiographical models with a particular attention to the French field. As a matter of fact Philippe Lejeune is one of the most important contemporary researchers in the autobiographical genre: a true 'autobiography master'. Since 2006, after the PHD research was published, I further deepened my research about autobiography and under the advice of colleagues and researchers in the biographical field I decided to update, review and translate into English my editorial project in order to achieve an international audience. This work is divided into two parts: the first one is about Philippe Lejeune's work and his research model, while the second one deals with the places of cultural promotion and autobiographical education in France and in Italy.
