After the rain stopped Jean stepped out into the early morning feeling as if she had not slept for a week. Looking over her shoulder Jean waited for the next impact to come from whatever had been chasing them. The clouds were starting to clear and the air had a freshness about it that promised a clear day to follow.
The rundown old building had seen better days but it had been left to crumble on its own. The roof was missing in some places, there were no doors left and rubble was scatted all over the place. It looked like someone had been living there not too long ago with the remains of a fire pit in the middle of the room and empty cans of food left lying around. There were floor boards missing and in places you could see through to the ground underneath. It also looked as though someone had been sleeping on the dirty old mattress without anything for warmth.
