Richard Dickson, ex-commando, now Industrial Photographer is assigned to photograph Marine Diesels on the cray fishing trawler Australis, in the Southern Ocean. Rick overhears a scheme to deliver narcotics and threats to eliminate Skye, the beautiful deckhand. "...Bloody oath, I'll fix the cold blooded bitch and the f... shutter clicker. We have to deliver the bloody stuff or else..."

He stows away in the delivery boat, overpowers and hides John the drug dealer. Pretending to be John during the hand over, Rick fights the gang and is critically injured. "...He knew that to live, he had to stay on his feet. Despite his maximum effort, Rick swayed, his knees buckled. All went dark and he was spinning into a bottomless pit..."

Weeks later, as he recovers from his injuries, the drug ring attempt several times to eliminate Rick and Skye, the two main witnesses.
