The Mars Mission discussed for years first by Werner Von Braun had stalled 1000 times by various administrations and hundreds of technical issues, now was ready to go but politics intervened. After that administration was out the new President went forward with it at all practical speed, Crews were selected and hardware was built or brought out of mothballs and updated and it happened. New deep space thrust systems were tested and applied and a full crew was on their way. They got there in 55 days and 19 hours the new thrust devices accelerated the spacecraft well beyond previous space mission velocities. They built a settlement and a sustaining culture on Mars. And discovered some astounding artifacts and history.
