Cordaze

The wind howled across the cliffs of Hauraki as the High Council passed judgment. Before them knelt a warrior, his dark eyes burning with fury and sorrow. His name was Raiku, the strongest of the kingdom's warriors, but no strength could save him now.

"You have betrayed the kingdom," the eldest councilor declared. "For this, we banish you beyond the Shadow Veil. You are never to return."

The queen, his beloved wife, stood silent among them, her face unreadable. Raiku looked to her one last time, searching for defiance, for love—for anything that told him she would fight for him. But she did not speak.

And so, under the watchful eyes of the guardians, Raiku was cast into exile. His son, Cordaze, was only a baby.
