Charles Brookfield feels in his bones he was meant to lead. He aims to prove that by enlisting in the Sojourner military in order to serve and protect the people of Bridgeiro. Charles soon discovers that he has been put in charge of a unit to go on dangerous missions throughout the universe. However, Bridgeiro's military has a unique way of sending soldiers on missions. Military operations use a ruthless simulator called the Sinomicron, which analyzes the human decision making process and calculates the odds of winning a war, and it soon utilizes Charles by sending him on real missions throughout the cosmos where other units have previously failed. Charles feels the pressure to prove himself, as he has big dreams of becoming Prime Minister of Bridgeiro one day. But first he has to survive the Sinomicron and all the perils it offers him on the battlefield…
