The bomb that was meant for Detective Chief Superintendent Ross Courtney but instead took his family not only destroyed his career but everything he had worked for. He’s now a homeless alcoholic, using the bottle as his way out.
That is till last and only friend, Richard Seble, is murdered. Ross starts to investigate, not to catch this friend’s killer, but rather to find where Jokey got the cash to buy his favourite drain cleaner. That is till he meets Helen, Richard’s wife. Ross senses her pain. She could not help her struggling husband, once a successful city lawyer, or prevent his downfall. Ross takes the case seriously.
As he investigates, he learns that a drug importer is using the homeless to deliver drugs around the city. Who sees the homeless? No one.
Ross discovers that a number of homeless have been either attacked or killed on a regular basis. He learns of two thugs, paid to guard the shipment as it travels from overseas, who use the street sleepers for their sport. Ross, knowing he has no future, sets himself up as their last and final victim. If he can time it right, they’ll be caught and he’ll be in back with his wife and kids, in the grave.
