As an orphan, Gerard thought his life was normal, just another child in the crowded halls of Ozark Valley Orphanage. When he was adopted and moved to a farm within a small community, his life felt normal, despite the unfamiliar rhythm of roosters crowing and the earthy scent of freshly tilled soil that clung to his adoptive father's clothes. When he met a creature whose existence defied scientific explanation, his life seemed still quite normal, or at least, he convinced himself it was. As an adult, he was fully pulled into that world and placed on a quest that would take him around the world. It was then that he thought maybe his life wasn' t that normal after all. When discovering his true lineage and holding the weight of humanity's future in his hands shattered any lingering illusion: his life was anything but ordinary, and perhaps it never was.
