Under One Condition

"Have you ever done this before?"

It's the one question that she wishes he wouldn't have asked. No, she hasn't. But she wants to.

"Don't tell my family."

He can live with that. All he really wants is time alone with her.

"Not yet."

Patience is the name of the game and she's willing to wait as long as it takes for him to give in.

"You must have a condition…"

He does. But if he tells her what it is…it would ruin everything.

"I want you, Mara, but it's not about you. It's about me."

It's taken her this long to be complimented by the conflict in his eyes, the urge to break his promise to himself and take her anyway.

Mara can't help but admire the self-control–not to mention everything else about Jason. She doesn't understand what's holding him back, but she's determined to change his mind.
