Life in Umelin has settled into a routine. Forced to retreat after losing in the court of popular opinion, the local authorities are keen to keep their distance. Siangu's students are progressing at their lessons, the entire building has heat, and the school now has a scholar to tend to its archive. If only things could stay so peaceful.

A mystery-monster may be preying on the city's citizens. That's a tragedy but also an ideal chance for the hero-academy's pupils to get some real experience.
