Since the dawn of man, sexual pleasures have thrived in deed and thought, propagated our species, and populated the planet. According to the tenets of many faiths, in either form, sexual pleasures are said to be equally sinful when enjoyed outside of marriage, yet we enjoy. In the scheme of things, 'sinful' is a relative term, just a matter of place and time. Cain conceived with his sister. Abraham married his half-sister. Lot was made drunk and raped by his daughters. Two sons were brought forth as a result not long after the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah for sexual immorality, yet Cain, Abraham, Lot, and he women escaped punishment for their transgression. Biblical scholars agree incest was not forbidden until the time of Moses, 'a matter of place and time'. Scripture must be taken with the proverbial grain of salt, otherwise we'd still be stoning to death the fornicator, the adulterer, and the homosexual. The dead would include thirty-five to forty percent of U. S. teenagers. One more example: twenty five of these United States outlaw marriage between first-cousins, the Bible has no comment.
