Run Maggie Run

A child sentenced to hang, Maggie flees 1830s Scotland and endures a violent odyssey to womanhood. An original heroine of flawed psyche, her self-taught book wisdom frequently fuels catastrophe. She joins gentryfolk sailing to create an Eden in the wilderness, promoted as a Second America. Deceit and murder predominate instead.
