Dustin is an orphan who has to find his place in a society built around honor. Wanting a power since he was a child that will allow him to be useful and not letting his adopted parents who took him in down Dustin finds himself questioning why no one else tries as hard to help as much as he does. With encouragement from his friend Arra, Dustin doesn't want to throw himself into battle and works effortlessly to secure his place at the Academy. This book takes place on the planet Ethra, an Earth-like planet. With characters having powers that are more like character traits than superpowers and Technology dating to the civil war era. With two nations vying for control of land and position Dustin will find himself on the front lines along with his other students from the Academy.
