One moment, she was in the future. Next, Tara is standing in the dressing room of a strip club in the heart of Boston's notorious Combat Zone, 1984. She has no money, no ID, and nothing to her name but a white plush bathrobe she was wearing before she disappeared.

In a world defined by its shadows and secrets, she befriends Candy, street-wise dancer who sees Tara's confusion and offers a form of protection, leading her through the maze of crowded streets and the raw, electric atmosphere of the eighties. Tara begins to realize that in this era, survival depends on navigating a complex web of influence and unspoken rules.

But as the relationship between the two deepens, the boundary between safety and control begins to blur. Tara discovers that the sanctuary offered comes with its own set of risks. In a place where trust is hard to come by, she must figure out the true intentions of those who have taken her in before she is left with nothing.

This is the second story in The Traveler series where Tara Jones poofs between places and time, trying to survive while finding interesting encounters.
