Kate McGovern has survived her first and second jobs, a semi-evil boss, and a duo of bitter goddesses hellbent on destroying the world. She's saved the day twice now, but according to her old boss, Mr. Waites, that means her luck is about to run out.

After returning triumphant from a business trip to Indonesia, Kate finds herself suddenly unemployed (again) and on the sidelines of the ongoing struggle between gods determined and mortals while the fate of everyone she knows and loves hangs on the outcome. The question is – should she tempt fate or leave the world-saving to others?
