Stay Gold

Abernathy has a habit of interfering in things he shouldn't, so when he discovers a note asking for help, his friend Tam doesn't want to get involved. But he does. Of course, he does. In short order, the pair discover a lost woman, Caree, and find themselves trapped in a strange version of the pub where Caree works. Tam manages to extract them from the pub, only to land them in a forest where both Abernathy and Caree begin to change in unsettling ways. Tam decides the only way home is to abandon Caree. Something he is quite capable of doing if it wasn't for Abernathy.
