Heart of Stone: A Picture Book is a book of poems that are crafted to be visual as well as verbal. The visual shape of the poem is itself the key to the meaning, and it defines and enhances the message of the poem. The poems reflect the universal heart, mind and soul and are introduced in metaphor by the title poem, "Heart of Stone", as crystal prisms carved by living rivers of intuition behind the facade of a impassive granite exterior. Each poem is metaphorically a prism, carved to reflect the facets of the heart of the mountain. They represent the best the mountain (the poet) has to offer the world in the form of truth and beauty.
