Tom Clinton hurries to Sandra Baxter's annual Christmas Holiday bash. The party promises to be a special one - Sandra hinted so in her invitation.

Clinton plans to make sure of it with a marriage proposal to his hostess.

The confident businessman stops at a small family bakery along the way, to buy bread for the party. Two chance encounters, one with a stranger at the bakery and one with an old friend at the party, change the course of his night.
