Inochi no Umi (The Sea of Life)

Long before memory, an ancient entity known only as Light chose to abandon eternity for the fleeting heartbeat of mortal life. To taste love, grief, wonder, and pain as humans do, Light split into six spirits—of Sea, Beast, Flame, Wind, Displacement, and Illusion—each destined to walk the world in fragile, human form.

But immortality carries a terrible cost. When Light fractured, its greater essence became imprisoned in a two-dimensional realm: a stark, endless plane where only thought remains, where awareness floats like a dot in white silence—unable to touch, unable to speak, condemned to centuries of watching the world yet never moving within it.

Not all welcomed this descent into flesh. Nyirixa, Spirit of Illusion—once bound to Light—turned against her kin. For countless generations, she hunted down each reincarnate before their awakening, killing them in childhood or youth, extinguishing their fragile lives before they could reclaim the shards of their true selves. Yet because the shards were immortal, each slain soul was forced to return, reborn again and again into mortal forms—only to be struck down once more. A cycle of endless death. A silence without end.

Until fate faltered. One shard slipped free of Nyirixa's grasp. Suerte, reincarnate of Miralux, Spirit of the Sea, awakened at last. In his becoming, Suerte was transformed into Oryun—one who perceives through sonar, who wears no eyes, no mouth, no mask but truth. His awakening broke the long silence, stirring the dormant threads of destiny, and setting into motion the return of the Six.

To reunite what was lost, Suerte must seek the others: Faelora of Beast, the Spirit of Flame, and beyond them, the path that winds through the Pentarch Gates—a passage of five seals that guard the balance of all life. Along this path lies the Astra Plane, where reincarnates confront their ancient selves in meditation, and the hidden loom of the Sisters of Fate, who weave sorrow and hope alike into the fabric of destiny.

Yet Suerte does not walk alone. At the heart of this story stands Kairo, a gifted fighter trained in the martial art of Stanbu, whose trials will test not only his strength, but his spirit. With him travel Suni, whose deep empathy binds them together; Nabu, the sharp and questioning intellect; Nari, curiosity given voice; and Elion, the searching mind of insight and doubt.
