Belinda Davis only wants to serve others through her nursing skills. She believes marriage would eventually come between her and what she enjoys doing. She turned down one marriage proposal when the fellow told her she wouldn’t have to run around doing things for other people anymore. When she married him, she’d be staying home taking care of him and their children. Then she met Doctor Adam Walker, and found something else she wanted very much. But she knew better than to wish for the very thing that would keep her from her calling.
Adam Walker valued his God-given skills as a doctor, and continually tried to learn more so he could help others. He’d been single-minded for years, putting his doctoring first after God. He would go to Oregon and open a practice there. Surely in a new land doctors would be in short supply, and he couldn't let anything or anyone keep him from his calling. Then he met Belinda.
Can Adam and Belinda work through their mistrust of marriage and the constraints they believe it will put on them? Is their love strong enough to find the solution they need to put their fears to rest?
Love on the Oregon Trail series continues with the second story, Belinda’s Doctor, as they cross the Platte River to follow the northern branch into Wyoming. Each book is a stand-alone story, yet all of the couples are joined in the same company and will interact with each other as they travel ever onward. Look for Charlotte’s Gamble, coming next in this series.
