Too often, we forget how truly powerful and humble we are. Whether we act, fail to act, or simply react to the butterflies in our stomach, when confronted with the need to take action despite our unwillingness or inability to do so, the butterflies will remain until we have changed mentally or spiritually, or made changes to our environment. Reading the real stories of people who have worked to make such changes can often assist us with our personal concepts of courage, fear, dignity, love or lack of or unacknowledged presence of them in our lives.
For this reason, the life-stories I have included in this book may remind us of the things we inherently know. The accounts reveal the experiences of clients who dealt with personal difficulties involving several key emotional states, including love, hate, fear, anger and insecurity. Reading them may provide a safe way to reflect upon our own state of being or to experience the plethora of emotional reactions incurred without jeopardizing our comfort zones. Although I have no formal training in psychology, my methodology as a hypnotherapist and life-coach leans towards cognitive behavioral therapy as described within the clinical psychology community. However, I have learned that my clients benefit significantly through dialogue conducted in a layman’s terminology, and therefore, I have written this book in a conversational tone.
My life-coach clients have agreed to share their stories, hoping that you will appreciate their forthrightness and in some way, connect with them on an emotional level with infinite empathy. It is my objective to not only inspire you, but to present a navigational path for your personal reconciliation with issues that may have been troubling you. Too many of us worry about what people think of us or blame others for our predicaments, our decisions or limitations. Too many of us feel excluded from society or that we are being judged unfairly, pushed or shuffled around like a pawn on a chess board, or stuffed into box where we don’t want to be.
If we are willing to take one baby step at a time, we can learn how to take control of our present and future and enjoy life to the fullest. Hopefully, the life-stories in this book will stimulate your thinking, provide answers to a few questions, and offer resolutions to matters that hinder you’re moving on. Come on this journey with me.
