She emerged from the shadows of a dying day, Lottie Layah, the second most popular porn star in the United States, or so Reverend Jeremy Winsome was able to discern in a high-speed internet search between her phone call fifteen minutes ago and her appearance right now beside an ominous black limousine with tinted windows.

So begins a friendship between two profoundly different people and an odyssey that will take them into the darkest corners of pornography and the underbelly of American culture.

Lottie Layah, formerly known as Kathryn Lucille O'Brien, has seen something her conscience will not allow her to ignore, a conscience she thought was long dead.
