In November 1962 Anthony Ficarotta was arrested in a multi-state theft ring for stealing clothes out of cars along the New Jersey Turnpike. On one occasion he and his friends stole a mink coat valued at $3,600. Ficarotta was a Genovese soldier who was caught up in the syndicate's penetration of Teamsters Local 13, Bricklayers Helpers and Mason Tenders Union. A government witness, Vincent Siciliano, was severely wounded during Queens' District Attorney Nat Hentel's probe of organized crime in the New York City borough.
