The Vatican Papers

The discovery of 1500 year old Vatican papers in Verona by Maxine and Robert Armstrong thrust them into a deadly fight between a Cardinal determined to suppress the secrets contained therein at all costs, and the Royal Society. When Maxine is held hostage Robert is forced to travel between Rome and London with a professional assassin to recover the papers. He is aware that Maxine and he will be eliminated if he cannot find a solution. The final chapters play out in Rome where more deaths take place.
