When a retired pensioner is found brutally murdered in his home, the Isle of Wight stirs uneasily. By morning, the sea delivers another victim — a woman battered and broken by the tide, carrying wounds the water could not erase.

When a third body is discovered in a remote coastal location, the island's calm façade fractures completely. Fear spreads through narrow lanes and quiet homes, and Ward is forced to confront the possibility that the truth lies not in motive — but in consequence.

As storms gather over chalk cliffs and hidden paths, the investigation draws Ward and his team into the island's undercurrents: long-held grudges, dangerous loyalties, and secrets that refused to stay buried.
