Thirty years ago, Barbara asked me to read a poem at her father's funeral. I owned many poetry books and proceeded to go through them without having much luck, finding some that were OK, but not quite right. So I decided to write one myself- more personal and therefore more meaningful. It turned out well, so I continued writing them ever since. This book contains 175 of my best poems. Following Thoreau's lead, I write mostly Nature observations, but also Human observations too, in a journalistic style. These personal poetic essays I know mean the most to me, but many are universal enough to touch others. I hope you enjoy them.
