This 2021 represents a greater challenge than 2020, since we continue to sustain the effects of #pandemia in our population, but with the advantage of vaccines that were generated, although in very slow doses applied in Latin America and the Caribbean, which allow us to have a more hopeful vision of the uncertain time to come. For this very reason it is necessary to see a different future ahead, to make it possible, to make it credible.
Within the Regional Executive Committee of WACC Latin America we have more than once asked ourselves our own dreams and desires: What would we build if possible with favorable scenarios, with the right economic and political means? And the truth is that these answers are not even part of what we imagine on a daily basis. Although the reality and the environment that surrounds us condition our practices, knowledge and learning, and they go through our lives, it is no less true to say that it is our lives, with all that they carry within them, that also go through the environments where they move and pass through.
This product that you have in front of you is the germinated fruit, which continues to germinate and is yet to germinate from many people, from many different and plural, wonderful and unsuspected knowledge. So, we decided to dream and project in the first half of #pandemia 2020. Germinated insofar as the product has the format you see, Germinating insofar as communication is always an unfinished process of which we are part, and to Germinate, to the extent of the new experiences that still await us ahead and of which we are already, in anticipation, an active part.
In this work you will be able to review the Webinars that WACC AL carried out throughout 2020 with the hope of continuing to generate new meetings in 2021. Works ranging from fundamentalisms and women's rights by Sandra López, to the process generated since 2019 after the triumph of Jair Bolsonaro by Valeria Vilhena - through the challenges of equality in communication by Lucía Lagunes Huerta, the rethinking of ecumenical communication from the legacy of the prophetic communities by Rolando Pérez, the construction of a popular ecumenical communication by Angélica Tostes, love as meaning of an empty church by Max Dueñas and the New Communication Systems by Mercedes Acosta.
