Grayson woke up to the gentle glow of morning sunlight peeking through his curtains. He rubbed his eyes and stretched, only to freeze when he noticed something unusual.

Sitting on his windowsill, staring directly at him with big, bulging eyes, was a very grumpy-looking frog.

"Uh… hello?"

Grayson said hesitantly. The frog didn't respond. Instead, it puffed up its chest and let out a loud, croaky ribbit!

Grayson leaned closer, curious. The frog's eyes narrowed, as though it understood the boy and wasn't pleased with being scrutinized.

"What's got you so angry, Frog?" Grayson chuckled.

Just then, a knock came on his door. It was Daisy, his neighbor and best friend, who always walked to school with him. "Grayson! Are you ready?" she called.

Grayson opened the door, but before he could say a word, Daisy pointed behind him. "What's that doing here?"

"It's an angry frog," Grayson replied, scratching his head.

"It just showed up. Doesn't seem very friendly."

The frog let out another loud croak and, to their astonishment, jumped off the sill and onto Grayson's desk.

It knocked over a pencil cup, sending pens and erasers tumbling to the floor.

"Hey!" Grayson exclaimed. "That wasn't nice!"

"It looks like it's trying to tell us something," Daisy said, stepping closer. "Maybe it's mad about something?"

The frog hopped again, this time onto Grayson's schoolbag. It tugged at the zipper with its tiny, webbed hands, then looked at them expectantly.

"I think it wants us to follow it!" Daisy said.

Grayson hesitated but nodded. "Okay, Frog, lead the way."

The frog hopped out of the window, and the two kids followed it through the backyard and into the woods behind their houses.
